Moving Forward

SPSS is formed by two MBSA Body Shop employees with combined experience of about 30 years in the Automotive Industry.

SPSS was established as a response to a business development project within MBSA, which aims to  streamline “existing operating processes to increase economic activity within the automotive supply chain, and to bring about transformation within the industry”.

SPSS will be responsible for loading single parts and sub-assemblies into bodyshop loading stations at MBSA’s East London plant, as well as at the East London Industrial Development Zone.

SPSS arose as a result of Global Operational Requirement to reduce manufacturing costs inline with Investment Budgets.
SPSS introduced manual work for less critical activities to meet above requirement,, thus resulting to high labour costs to Clients.

SPSS Founders were part of a project that improved the effectiveness of robot loading stations of the W204 Body Shop, where they developed a solution that was even taken over in one Daimler plant in Brazil.

SPSS core function is to lead the World to low cost automation and manual work management.
SPSS will provide specialised material handling services for the Body Shop robot coupled stations, ie 51 stations over a three-shift operation and a five-day normal week and whenever the MBSA Body Shop need to produce on weekends.
SPSS aims to reduce production minutes lost in the Body Shop in order to improve Loading Stations’ efficiency through manual loading stations.

SPSS ultimate goal is to make manual work and low-cost automation more attractive again
